And as Shruti shifts base to Mumbai, with a Bollywood career in mind, a film with her father isn’t on the cards anytime soon. The reason: she wants to build a solid career in films before teaming up with her
father.
Although there have been a few offers that could have seen the young actor star in a film alongside her dad, she has always turned them down. “Shruti feels that if she acts in her father’s film, she would like him to treat her like another actor, and not his daughter. And she knows that the only way she would be able to do justice to her role is if she establishes herself first. Till then, she isn’t in a hurry to work with him,” says an insider close to Shruti.
Although Shruti’s parents have always supported her, she has largely followed her own path with films like Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji (2011), 3 and Gabbar Singh. “That’s why she wants to prove her worth before sharing space with Mr Haasan. But there are signs of it happening very soon,” says the insider.
When contacted, Shruti says: “I’d love to work with my dad. But I want to perfect myself first. I want him to treat me like any other actor and not be partial. That’s the only way I’ll be able to give my best sss.
